Training course: "Environmental awareness promoter in Ligurian Marine Protected Areas"

This project fell within a framework of coordinated actions carried out by the University of Genoa and the Cinque Terre MPA. In this specific action, a training course was organised to provide Diving Centers' staff with information concerning Marine Biology and Ecology, Conservation, Legal Frameworks. The participants were awarded a PADI Naturalist Diver Speciylty certification, which entitled many of them to teach the appropriate course according to the standards of their certification agency. GAIA acted as a subcontractor of the University of Genoa and its role was to organise and keep the course both in the classroom and in the field, awarding the final PADI certification. The course was held in 2007.
